Songs my dad used to play in the car

  • “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” by Meat Loaf
    • So I totally thought this was a bad song because of the line “We were barely seventeen and we were barely dressed”. I never realized that the baseball bit in the middle was part of the song, and so I figured my dad was actually listening to a baseball game on the radio.
  • “Hair of the Dog” by Nazareth
    • This was even more of a bad song because they said “son of a bitch”.
  • “Everything’s Changed” by Lonestar
    • I had no idea what this one was called and had to look it up. I only remembered the lyrics about “old drive ins and new Wal-Marts”.
  • “Everything About You” by Ugly Kid Joe
    • I just thought the intro, “Are you the guys on the beach that hate everything?”, was funny. Also I thought it was Nelson from The Simpsons.
  • “No One Needs to Know” by Shania Twain
  • “If I Had $1,000,000” by Barenaked Ladies
  • “Rock ‘n’ Roll, Part 2” by Gary Glitter
  • “Tall Cool One” by Robert Plant
    • At least, I think he did. He had some mysterious version that is so much better than the version I know. I don’t think it actually exists. I always thought it was “Knock, knock, baby, I’m in love with you”.
