1×12 “The Real Thing”

  • Date Watched: October 24, 2021

A woman thinks if one night in college went differently, she would have married her best friend’s fiancé.
A man wants to be the heavyweight champion of the world.
A reporter wants the scoop on Fantasy Island.

Why is Harry ringing the bell…? Oh right. No more Cal. Weird.

Didn’t they already do 6×6 “The Beautiful Skeptic”? Or maybe that was the 2021 series? Hm, looks like they didn’t. I must just be thinking of 1×8 “Handymen”.

Roarke is wearing a beer helmet.

Aaron Filner: The battle scene in Pirates of the Caribbean was more convincing than that alien autopsy.

This line doesn’t really make sense anymore, now that Pirates of the Caribbean isn’t just a ride.

This show, like the original series, shows the guest stars’ names at the beginning of the episode, which is something I’ve never been a fan of; I always watched the opening scenes in Lost with my hand covering the bottom half of the screen to avoid spoilers. The twist at the end of this episode that Mr. Harbin actually had to fight the real heavyweight champion of the world was ruined by the opening credits revealing Lennox Lewis was in this.
