1×13 “Reunion/Anniversary”

Four former cheerleaders reunite in a creepy isolated cabin.
A woman has fallen out of love with her drunkard husband, Captain Jellico, so Roarke recreates their wedding day.

Tattoo: That sounds like fun.
Roarke: Yes, ordinarily it would be, but in this case, I’m afraid that each of our happy, young ladies is harboring a very dark secret that could turn their fantasy into a nightmare.

Hannah: What more can you ask for? Unless maybe the Beatles…
Carol: Huh! One for each of us.
Tattoo: They are not available this weekend.

Why was it necessary to show us the shot of Roarke lifting Tattoo into the car? Like honestly, they had to go out of their way to film that, and I don’t get it.

Hahaha, that awful zoom when the wife asks Roarke how he knows that the sword once belonged to Alexander the Great. They do this sometimes on the Monkees, I assume when they forgot to get the closeup, and it just always looks so terrible, but I love it.

What do you call this collar? It’s white along the top, but the one front side is green, the other front side is black, and it’s blue underneath?

Neither of these are boy fantasies? This is gonna have a low rating on IMDb.

Wow, they actually used the word rape. They only dance around it in season seven.

Ahh, Roarke and Tattoo are creeping in the dark again.

This guy looks like Ben Affleck.

Hannah inexplicably runs into a shed, and then it immediately bursts into flames. So she’s the one who’s gonna try to kill the rest of them… except that guests can’t die, so I guess she won’t do a good job of it.

Do they bring fake red calla lillies with them wherever they film and just sprinkle them around the set?

Yeaaah, no, you don’t stand in front of a window when the lights are flickering and there’s a murderer loose.

Ooh, I think that clock in the background shows up in Roarke’s office later.

Hmmm, I wonder who’s in the mask. Could it possibly be the only other character we’ve met in this fantasy? Wow, big surprise.

The cheerleader story feels really familiar. I don’t know if I’ve seen this episode before, or maybe I’ve seen a similar movie. Like it’s not the most original plot. Nor is the “oops you weren’t actually married”, and that felt familiar to me too. I’m gonna say I probably saw this episode way back in the day.

Roarke: We turned down her fantasy request.

Obviously they would need to turn down some fantasies, but I think this is the first we’ve heard about it.

Reverend: Thank god for that.
Roarke: Yes… thank god indeed.

Aki again! Why doesn’t she ever get credit? I know, I know, she doesn’t have any lines, but still.

Hahaha, okay, I thought she said “you got it, dude”, but closed captioning says she said “you got it, cutie”.

One of Tattoo’s rabbits is reflected somehow, like it’s standing in front of some glass, but then it just keeps walking through where the glass should have been, and I am confused.

Hey, this episode actually has a filming location listed: Gulls Way Estate. Aw, they’ve taken the pool out. That’s sad, but I guess it would be expensive to upkeep in California.
