2×13 “The Lady and the Longhorn/Vampire”
- Rating: 2 out of 5
Eva Gabor wants to find a rich husband.
Mr. Brady wants to be Dracula.
Hey, Wally’s driving the car!
Roarke: You see, the lady has a fantasy.
Tattoo: She does?
Why does Tattoo sound so surprised?
The scene of Roarke and Eva Gabor talking slyly about her plan did not seem like a typical Fantasy Island scene, but I liked it.
Colonial Street three episodes in a row: Mexico, Germany, and now Romania.
If you’re so afraid of this guy, why would you have a portrait of him hanging in such a prominent place in your house?
I am not gonna look for this castle. I am not gonna look for this castle.
Well, “california castle middle of nowhere” didn’t find it, so I’m stumped.
[Roarke is explaining why Mr. Brady is not a vampire and did not kill this woman.]
Roarke: Your own village doctor confirmed that this young lady was drugged.
Well, that makes everything alright then… 🙄
Maurice Benson: If you want these Moon Madness shares, you have to marry me.
Yeeee no. Tracy just told Vera, hey, you don’t have to marry this chump, because Benson and I bought all the shares for your company, and then Benson shows up like, nah, just kidding, you gotta marry me if you want the shares. That’s messed up.
Hey, that’s a different driver.
This was a meh episode for me. I did pay attention to both fantasies, but I was more interested in trying to find that castle than anything that was going on here.
- Tattoo’s shenanigans: he wants to direct a guest’s lipstick commercial
- That’s weird; wee never had that before: the episode titles and other credits are shown as the plane arrives, not after “my dear guests”
- Ominous Roarke:
- Roarke: And because he is a method actor, he has come here to prepare for his next and most challenging movie role. A preparation that could prove… very dangerous.
- Roarke’s drink: same old, same old
- Ominous shot of Roarke raising his drink: nope
- The other side of the island: it isn’t specifically stated where it is, but there’s apparently a Romanian village with a Transylvanian castle somewhere on or near Fantasy Island
- Meddling Roarke:
- setting Vera Templeton up with three buffoon bachelors
- telling Tracy about her aunt Vera’s financial problems
- Fantasy Island brand: Fantasy Island Chicken
